ExCarta (“ExCarta,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit excarta.com (the “Site”) or otherwise interact with us.
By using the Site, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Site.
WHO WE ARE
ExCarta is an international strategic communications firm with operations including, but not limited to, Chile and the United States. For purposes of this Privacy Policy, the “data controller” responsible for your information is:

INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect the following categories of information:
1.Information You Provide Directly
- Contact form submissions: name, email address, company/organization, phone number, and the content of your message.
- Newsletter sign-up: name, company, and email address.
- Any other information you choose to provide when corresponding with us (e.g., via email or social media).
- Site Comments: When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
2. Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers may automatically collect certain information through cookies, pixels, and similar technologies, including:
- IP address and approximate geographic location
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited, time spent on pages, and referring/exit URLs
- Date and time of visit
3. Information from Advertising and Marketing Technologies
We use third-party advertising and marketing tools, including the Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram), which may collect information about your interactions with the Site for the purpose of measuring advertising effectiveness and delivering tailored advertising on third-party platforms. These tools may use cookies and similar technologies and may collect data such as your IP address, device identifiers, and browsing behavior on the Site.
We may also use analytics tools (such as Google Analytics or similar services) to understand how visitors use the Site.
We do not knowingly collect financial account information, government identification numbers, or other sensitive personal information through the Site.

Some of these sharing activities — particularly with advertising platforms — may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under certain state laws (including California’s), even though no money changes hands. See Section 8 below for your rights regarding this.
INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
ExCarta operates internationally, including in Chile and the United States, and works with clients and partners around the world (including in North America, South America Europe, Africa, Asia and Oceana). As a result, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in countries other than your country of residence, which may have different data protection laws. Where required (for example, for transfers of personal data originating in the European Economic Area), we will rely on appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses, to protect your information.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The Site is intended for a general business and professional audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 where applicable under European law). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will take steps to delete that information as soon as possible. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at gabrielle.peterson@excarta.com so we can investigate and address the matter, consistent with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (“COPPA”) and other applicable children’s privacy laws.
YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
1. California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected, used, disclosed, and (where applicable) sold or shared about you
- Request access to and a copy of your personal information
- Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your personal information (including for cross-context behavioral advertising, such as through pixel-based tools)
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information, where applicable
- Not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights

2. Other U.S. State Residents
Residents of certain other U.S. states with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights to access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain processing of their personal information. We will honor verifiable requests from residents of those states consistent with applicable law.
3. Chile (LeyN°628 sobre Protección de la Vida Privada, as amended by Ley N° 21.719)
If you are located in Chile, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request rectification of inaccurate or outdated data
- Request deletion (“cancelación”) of your data where legally permissible
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
- Withdraw consent for processing based on consent, at any time

4. European Economic Area / United Kingdom (GDPR)
- If you are located in the EEA or UK, you have the right to:
- Access, correct, or delete your personal data
- Restrict or object to processing of your personal data
- Request data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
- Lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority
Our legal bases for processing your personal data include your consent, our legitimate interests (such as operating and promoting our business), and compliance with legal obligations.

DATA RETENTION
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (for example, to comply with legal, accounting, or reporting obligations).
DATA SECURITY
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
